What It Costs to Find Out

Most consultants make you sit through a call before they will talk numbers. Here are the ranges up front, so you can decide at your desk, in about two minutes, whether this is worth a call.

The Checkup

$1,500 to $3,500
About two weeks, flat fee, no surprises

I go through your website, ads, and numbers and hand back a plain-English list: what is broken, roughly what each one costs you every month, and the order to fix them in. Some owners take that list and run it themselves.

Most common

The Fix

$6,000 to $25,000
One to four months, one flat price

One specific thing, fixed properly, with an end date. A website redesigned, a checkout or quote form fixed, an ad account overhauled, reporting you can finally trust. You know the price and the finish line before anything starts, and it does not creep.

The Standing Arrangement

$2,000 to $5,000 / month
Month to month. Cancel any time, no notice.

A marketing director on tap for a fraction of what a salaried one costs. I keep the ads straight, watch the numbers, ride herd on your other vendors, and you have someone to call before a decision instead of after.

Decide on a Tuesday that you are done, and you are done Tuesday.

Also on the table

Get Paid Out of the Growth

If you would rather not write a monthly check on faith, I will take a percentage of the revenue growth I drive, measured against a baseline we agree on before I touch anything. If your numbers do not move, I do not get paid.

Baseline firstWe agree in writing what your revenue is doing today, before any work starts. No arguing later about what counts as growth.
Attributable growth onlyMeasured on the channels and pages I am working on. I do not bill you for your busy season or a viral post I had nothing to do with.
Usually blendedMost often a reduced monthly fee plus a smaller share, which keeps the lights on here without stacking all the risk on you.

The catch, stated plainly: this only works where growth is measurable and reasonably quick, which usually means e-commerce or lead generation with tracking already in place. If your sales close over six months on the phone, a flat fee is the fairer structure and I will say so.

Terms

The Part Nobody Else Will Put in Writing

No long-term contractNothing to sign that locks you in. Month to month means month to month.
No notice periodDecide on a Tuesday that you are done, and you are done Tuesday. You are not billed for a month you did not want.
No minimum termMost agencies want six months before you can judge them. You can judge me in four weeks and leave in five.
One page, in writingBefore any paid work starts you get a short agreement that says what I will do, what it costs, when it ends, and that monthly work can stop whenever you say. It protects you at least as much as me.

This tends to work well when

  • You are doing somewhere between $500K and $25M a year and growth has gone flat
  • You pay an agency or a freelancer and have no real way to judge if it is working
  • You are making decisions on instinct because the numbers never quite add up
  • You do not have a marketing person on staff, and cannot justify hiring one yet

This is probably not a fit when

  • You are just starting out and need a first customer more than a strategy
  • You want someone to do tasks rather than question them
  • You need someone posting to social media daily, which a freelancer does for far less
  • You have already decided and just want someone to agree with you

These are ranges, not quotes.

What you need drives the number, and the free consultation is where we work out which range you are in. Nobody gets a bill for that conversation.
